Locations


The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator qualification tests. Please refer to the exam pages for additional information regarding exam content, exam terms and conditions, and additional guidelines. If you need special accommodations due to chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations Contact the exam provider and provide detailed information when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers an option to "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for those classes that must have an exam by NYSED regulations. For evening classes exams, they are scheduled at the normal class time during the exam week.

Registration

Students are encouraged to look up the exam schedule online. It is important to remember that the schedule for exams can change at any time. Therefore, students should consult with their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also print the official list to take with them to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, the terms and conditions. These are on the website for each exam. After registering, students acknowledge that they accept these conditions and terms.

If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled for the same day, it is suggested to contact their instructor or department to arrange a make-up exam. Although it is possible to take three exams in one day, it can cause a high stress level and can impact the quality of the test. The professor may not be able to give a makeup test on another day.

Before taking the exam students must prepare by studying the course material and practicing their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that tests your ability to read, speak, and write German. The examination results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the attainment of the language level A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competency that is outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students must carry a valid government ID to the test. Those without a valid photo identification will be disqualified.

Fees

If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you'll need to pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fees.

Practice tests let you get an understanding of the style of the questions, their wording, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you assess your understanding, find gaps and improve your chances of acing the exam.

Please take note that the fee for exams is not refundable. Exam results can only be received by email and not by telephone.
